At Numaru, we believe that culture is best experienced, not just explained. That’s why we recently hosted a special Korean Culture Workshop for students, designed as a hands-on journey into Korean traditions, food, and lifestyle.
From the moment the workshop began, the atmosphere was filled with curiosity and excitement. Students were not just learning — they were actively participating, exploring, and connecting with
a new culture.
A Journey into Korean Culture
The workshop opened with an engaging introduction to Korean culture.Students discovered the meaning behind traditions, daily life in Korea, and the important role food plays in bringing people together. Rather than a lecture, the session was interactive — encouraging questions, conversations, and genuine cultural exchange.
Trying on Hanbok: Wearing Tradition
One of the most memorable moments was the opportunity to try on Hanbok, traditional Korean clothing. Students experienced firsthand the elegance, colors, and design of Korean heritage. It wasn’t just about wearing something beautiful — it was about stepping into Korean history and identity, even if just for a moment. You could see smiles, curiosity,
and excitement as they looked at themselves in a completely new cultural context.
Sharing Food, Sharing Culture
No Korean experience would be complete without food. Students gathered around the table to enjoy some of Korea’s most loved dishes:
Tteokbokki – spicy rice cakes, rich in flavor and tradition
Bibimbap – a colorful and balanced dish representing harmony in Korean cuisine
This part of the workshop quickly became a favorite.Sharing food created a natural and relaxed atmosphere where students could connect, talk, and enjoy the experience together.
More Than a Workshop
This wasn’t just a lesson — it was a cultural experience. Students didn’t just learn about Korea. They felt it, tasted it, and lived it — even if only for a few hours.
